Get Involved

Nationally, one-third of all women in the world report having been physically or sexually assaulted by an intimate partner at some point in their lives, and fifty percent of all homeless women and children in the United States are homeless because of domestic violence.

If you would like to help, but don't know how, Heather's T.R.E.E. offers many options. Pick the one that's right for you and together, we can help support and empower survivors of domestic violence.

Volunteer Your Time

Heather's T.R.E.E. is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help with our upcoming benefit, The 2nd Annual Heather Spencer Memorial Soulshine Concert, scheduled for October 17, 2009 at Hal & Mal's in Jackson, MS. As you can imagine, putting on a benefit takes lots of time and energy.

Make Our Voices Heard

We will soon be asking you to help us pass a "Good Samaritan" law for the state of Mississippi. Unfortunately, Mississippi does not currently have this law and if we had, Heather's life could have been saved had her killer's mother made the phone call that could have saved her life. Instead, she let Heather lie there alone, fighting for her life until she died at 3:00 am the next morning and can not be held accountable for those actions. This is inhumane and morally unacceptable. Our Mississippi legislators must change this into law.

Let's contact our representatives and let them know it is a travesty of justice that a person is not held accountable when they witness a crime or an accident and do not report it. This MUST be made into law before more victims die needlessly. You will hear more from us on this matter in the near future!
